Privacy Policy

Who we are
Dayrate is made and run by Valley Films, LLC, a Virginia company. This policy covers dayrate.video, the Dayrate app, and the estimate and invoice pages your clients open. Questions go to [email protected].
What we collect
- Your account. Your name, email and login, through Clerk.
- Purchases. What you bought and when, through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- What you put in Dayrate. Budgets, clients, gear, your brand, estimates, invoices and change orders.
- Your clients. The client details you enter, and what your clients submit when they approve an estimate or pay an invoice.
- Usage. How people use the pages, through PostHog. It hides what you type.
- Ads. The Meta pixel tells Meta when someone who saw an ad buys. At checkout, Meta gets a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email and phone for that match, never your card.
- Email. Receipts, login links and notes are sent through Resend.
How we use it
To run Dayrate, take payments, send your estimates and invoices, help you when you write in, keep the service secure, and make the product better. We email you about your account and, if you bought, a short series of tips and offers. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
Anonymous pricing data
When you send an estimate or invoice through Dayrate, we keep anonymous, combined pricing facts: the market, shoot days, crew roles, rates, totals, and whether it was approved or paid. We never use your name, your client's name or your notes. We use these combined numbers to improve the Rate Book and the calculator's estimates.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help run Dayrate: Cloudflare (hosting and bot protection), Clerk (logins), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), PostHog (analytics) and Meta (ad measurement). We don't sell your personal data.
Your clients' data
When you add a client or send them an estimate or invoice, you're responsible for having the right to share their details with us. Your clients can email us to ask about their data.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. Sent estimates and invoices stay available so the links keep working. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Ask us to delete your data and we will, unless the law says we have to keep it.
Security
Dayrate runs over HTTPS. Logins and payments are handled by Clerk and Stripe. No system is perfect, but we work to keep your data safe.
Your choices
- Access, export or delete your data: email [email protected].
- Stop marketing emails anytime with the unsubscribe link.
Children
Dayrate is for working professionals. It isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll email you.
